Completed applications from qualified physicians for May examinations are due no later than December 1 of the previous year. Completed applications for November examinations are due no later than May 1 of that year.  Beginning in 2016, the November examinations will change to October examinations, with an application completion deadline of April 1, 2016.

The ABPS provides the opportunity for qualified physicians to earn board certification and recertification in the specialties listed below. The eligibility requirements, applications and exact exam schedules for each specialty may be found by clicking on the corresponding link below:

ABPS eligibility requirements are as stringent as any certifying body in the world, and the examinations are based on rigorous scientific standards designed to demonstrate a mastery of the knowledge and skill required to provide the best possible patient care in a given specialty. The board certification exams offered by ABPS member boards are available to all qualified allopathic (MD) and osteopathic (DO) physicians. The ABPS is the official board certifying body of the American Association of Physician Specialists, Inc. To learn more, contact the ABPS today.
