Hospital Medicine

The ABPS hospital medicine board certification enables successful candidates to present themselves to the public as qualified medical specialists in hospital medicine. Completing the hospital medicine board certification indicates mastery of hospital medicine experience and knowledge, as well as a professional commitment to adhere to the ABPS Medical Code of Ethics.

The hospital medicine board certification examination process consists of a written exam, administered at a computer testing center. The format of the exam is multiple-choice, single-response questions. The questions are developed and validated by Diplomates of the American Board of Hospital Medicine (ABHM) under the direction of the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS) and psychometric consultants.
