The VA Maryland Health Care System, Baltimore Division, seeks a full-time, board certified Radiation Oncologist, Chief to join our established, expanding Radiation Oncology department supervising 2 other radiation oncologist, nurses and staff to bring the best of cancer care and treatment to our Veterans. Candidate must be highly skilled and experienced in the modern area of Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), Brachytherapy in all sites, background in patient care and/or translational researches in the field of radiation oncology, and participate in the expansion of these programs.
Duties of this position also include the following:
The Chief will foster excellence in the delivery of high quality clinical care.
Clinically & administratively supervise the Radiation Oncology Department of staff physicians, medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, registered nurses and administrative staff members.
Consulting and evaluating patients referred to Radiation Therapy.
Planning and managing the patient’s daily radiation treatment.
Following up on patients who have completed radiation therapy.
Developing and participating in the expansion of the IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, Brachytherapy and cancer research programs.
Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday; 8:00AM to 4:30PM On call rotation: nights and weekends as needed.
Requirements:
U.S. citizen
Full and unrestricted MD/DO license (from any state)
BC Radiation Oncologist
Must be highly motivated, team-oriented, committed to Veterans care, and have a focus on process improvement.
Preferred Candidate:
Experience showing leadership and administrator skills.
