Brevard Health Alliance (a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)), is seeking a full-time dynamic and caring Ambulatory OB/GYN for our Melbourne, FL Clinic. The OB / GYN will provide prenatal and GYN outpatient care, scheduled L&D and operating room 2 to 4 times per month at a single hospital, and rotational on-call coverage as backup to a team of Laborists. This position reports to the Director of Women’s Health and the Chief Executive Officer.

GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). Completed an accredited OB/GYN residency program. Board certified or eligible.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Clear and active Florida Medical License.

Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License.

Minimum 3 years of experience practicing Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Preferred (not required): OB/GYN sonogram experience. Prior clinical experience in an FQHC or Community Health Center.

We need more physicians to become full time health care executives, knowing there is a board certification option in Administrative Medicine encourages physicians to take the leap from full time clinical practice to healthcare organizational leadership.

The American Board of Physician Specialties has provided me with the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of internal medicine through board certification. As a hospitalist, board certification is an expected credential, and hospitals recognize the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS) as one of the three standard credentialling bodies for Internal Medicine. Additionally, the ABPS has helped me develop leadership skills as a Board member and Committee Chairperson. ABPS has also helped me sharpen critical thinking skills as a test question developer and reviewer. The Allopathic (MD) and Osteopathic (DO) physicians in the ABPS are lifelong learners and frequently pursue multiple board certifications. I enjoy the camaraderie of my peers in ABPS.
